Squaring the factor/number on the Middle Ring will give you the answer on the Outer Ring in the same column.

Likewise, looking for the Square Root of a factor/number on the Outer Ring will give you the answer on the Middle Ring.

Ex: The Square of factor 3 = 9; while the Square Root of 9 = 3
